There were actually two reasons for celebration. The working team was happy at having successfully completed its first full restoration since the opening of the BMW Classic Customer Workshop, while the German carmaker marked the first occasion on which a classic BMW was delivered to a customer. To be more precise, in this case, the customer wanted his 1972 BMW 3.0 CSi transformed into a perfect state. The manual transmission was transformed into an automatic one as well. It was fitted with an automatic transmission from a BMW 2.8 CS. The whole process took months of research and countless hours of manual labor. The engineers managed to find all problems, but also iron out technical and electronic defects. The model is now in perfect condition.
