Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution

The 2003 Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution has been developed using the rich experience that Mitsubishi has earned since its first entry into the Paris-Dakar Rally back in 1983 and it comes with an improved exterior body styling and dimensions. As compared to the previous model, the new car model is 113 mm longer, 39 mm wider and features a 180 mm longer wheelbase. Using a six-speed transmission and an ECI multi-injection, the new T2 model receives its power from a revised 6G74, six-cylinder, 3,497cc, 24-valve MIVEC V6 engine, using independent double wishbone front and rear suspension. Even more impressive, the new version integrates a tyre-deflation system, which, by the simple push of a button on the dashboard, it automatically inflates and deflates the tyres. Hiroshi Masuoka and Andreas Schultz were the vrew of the Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution and they were the proud winners of the 2003 Dakar Rally, claiming an incredible 1 hour, 52 minute and 12 second winning margin after 19 days and 5,216 kilometres of competition in an 8,552 kilometre route that has taken the crews from Marseilles in France, down to Spain, Tunisia, across Libya and into Egypt. Mitsubishi Motors' drivers also held the top five overall positions for four legs (12, 13, 14 and 15).
