Citroen C3 Pluriel has been released in May 2003. Since then it attracted its etiquette of versatile but stylish car, thanks to its driving equipment, unique design and comfort provided. The Citroen C3 Pluriel comes in two options: one petrol engine of 75 HP, 1.4i and a manual gearbox with 5 speeds and another 16V 1.6i petrol engine with 110 HO and a SensoDrive gearbox. Since 2004, you can choose the third model: a diesel engine that can be seen also on C2 and C3 models and has a low fuel consumption. There are also two different aspects: one which combines an interior leather with an aluminum exterior and another one with Euro fabric on the interior, that brings an elegant aspect. Citroen C3 Pluriel has also some high technology installed, such as electronic brake force distribution, ABS, automatic illumination and emergency braking assistance.
Released in May 2003, the C3 Pluriel stands out with its inimitable exterior and interior styling and its panoramic roof. Like the C3 and C2, it sports a new dashboard with a modern and refined design that confirms the vehicle’s place at the top of the supermini segment. Furthermore, all versions of the C3 Pluriel now come with the unique dark-grey interior design scheme (Tramontane) for the upper parts of the vehicle, including the inside of the sunroof, the wood trim on the arches, and the upholstery on the windscreen pillar and cross-members. These additions help to enhance the stylish look of the passenger compartment.
The C3 Pluriel comes with a range of different trims and interior design schemes. One features seats in leisure “3D” fabric and another focuses on leather, bringing elegance and comfort to the passenger compartment. The Aluminium pack, combined with the "Leather" pack and available with all exterior colours, sets off the exterior styling with aluminium-grey door handles and arches, bumper strips and side mouldings.
The C3 Pluriel is both stylish and versatile, with four real seats and a 266-litre boot. The vehicle features new comfort and driving aid equipment, including cruise control, a speed limiter, and, on some versions, electronic rearview mirrors foldable with a HF remote control unit. Existing equipment includes a height-and-reach adjustable steering wheel as standard, a refrigerated glovebox, automatically operated headlamps and front windscreen wiper, and fog lamps.
Two petrol engines are available, the 1.4i 75 bhp with a 5-speed manual gearbox and the 1.6i 16V 110 bhp fitted with the SensoDrive gearbox. A new HDi 70 diesel engine with a manual gearbox has been available since April 2004. This diesel engine, also fitted on the C3 and C2, has been highly successful: more than 45% of all C3 Pluriels sold in first-half 2005 were equipped with this engine. With the HDi 70 engine, the C3 combines the advantages of a modern diesel engine â€" low consumption, quiet operation, driving pleasure â€" with the natural qualities of its chassis.
Safety-wise, all engine versions of the C3 Pluriel are now fitted with ESP. The C3 Pluriel also comes with ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency braking assistance and automatic illumination of hazard warning lights as standard. It obtained excellent results in EuroNCAP impact tests, earning four stars with 31 points.
