Alfa Romeo Autodelta 147 GTA AM Super with 422 HP

The 2007 Alfa Romeo Autodelta 147 GTA AM Super is considered to be the most powerful high performance bespoke model as it pushes the engine and chassis dynamics of the Alfa 147 GTA to its most extreme point. The capacity of its Alfa V6 engine has increased to 3,750cc, delivering a maximum output of 422 bhp at 7,000 rpm and torque was also significantly improved to 520 Nm. A perfect blend between sheer performance and practicality was ensured by Autodelta's engineers and its presence at Spa-Francorchamps, represented an important step in an on-going Research & Development programme. Jano Djelalian, Autodelta Managing Director, stated that they were delighted to introduce the Autodelta 147 GTA AM 3.7 Super at SpaItalia in front a very interested audience and they had received a great and pleasing level of support. The SpaItalia was a perfect setting for the car to be presented and the beautiful weather outside was extremely helpful. The director added that they were able to use the Brera J5 'mule' to run some development parts which were scheduled for the forthcoming J20 model. Paul Paggiosi, Autodelta Test Driver, also commented that was the most suited circuit he had ever found for his car, as it enbaled him to unleash the full power of the car. The revised suspension settings stood up the demanding circuit. The new car's ability to take passengers and run in the full customer specification, on road tyres and with a heavy fuel load. Herbert Werner, Manager Car Tyre Development, Dunlop, stated that they were particularly pleased with the performance of the Dunlop Sport Maxx tyre, which they had specially developed for the Autodelta Brera J5 3.2 C, on the Spa circuit. The Sport Maxx has well balanced ground pressure distribution combined with a high stiffness of the shoulder pattern area, which is known to be essential for good stability and wear properties of the tyre.
