Here is a perfect opportunity for car lovers looking for something special: Mercedes-Benz E-Class Chablis shares a great number of characteristics with the well-known wine to make for its uniqueness. The sophisticated taste, unique colour and uncompromising quality based on the perennial tradition – such effect has been achieved by means of the luxurious leather finishing and the designo paintwork. The E-Class Chablis model series, equipped with a three-liter Diesel engine with an output of 224 hp, has been limited to include just 30 units.

The secret of the unmistakable taste of the Chablis wine lies in a combination of the Chardonnay grapevine seedling with the cold terroir of the lime silt of North-Eastern France. Both climate and soil play a significant role in the making of the E-Class Chablis as well. Leather elements of the interior of the E-Class are made exclusively of high-quality skins originating in stock-raising farms in Southern Germany, where the limited influence of natural factors like insect bites or cuts, affords animal skin of inimitable quality and texture.

Man-made
The designo leather is produced by experienced craftsmen. Like with Chablis the wine, most work is done by hand. The surface of the leather must be free of any defects; each scratch, even the tiniest one, is eliminated. The Chablis model undergoes special, lengthened manufacturing. The multi-stage skin processing and selection of adequate materials – these activities alone take a whole month. Adjustment of these, sewing and fitting inside a car, result in another weeks of hard work. And this is just a beginning.

Wood to add taste
Although making the E-Class Chablis does not require oak casks to be used, still wood influences extensively the final look of the car's interior. Decorative elements are made of maple wood. Carefully selected veneers are processed by hand: bated, ground and polished. Afterwards, they are covered with a few layers of fine varnish.

Deep, rich colour
The subtly graded dress of the Chablis speaks for the quality of the wine. Alike the designo paint finish covering the E-Class. The multi-layer structure of the paint, as well as the unique shade on the outside, correspond with the interior which is defined by the designo leather upholstery and the black Alcantra roof lining.
