Nissan 350Z review:

The 2007 Nissan 350Z comes up with new improvements for its new model year, among which the next generation of its award-winning VQ-series 3.5 liter V6 engine with 306 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. There are also three new exterior colors – Carbon Silver, Solar Orange and San Marino Blue.

Three new exterior colors, a new front hood design, interior improvements and a Bluetooth Hand-Free Phone System (Touring, Grand Touring Coupes) are some of the new improvements presented by the 2007 350Z.

The Chassis

The engine of this new model is placed behind the front axle by the FM (Front Mid-Ship) platform, providing this way an optimized front-to-rear weight balance of 53/47. The FM platform, which is derived from racing technology, also strongly emphasizes on aerodynamics, especially on the control of airflow under the body.

The Z’s standard rack-and-pinion steering system features a vehicle speed-sensitive power assist, which allows for a comfortable steering effort at both low and high speeds. As compared to the one set for traditional power steering systems, this new system is composed of two orifice sets that work together to generate the proper level of steering effort in almost every driving condition. A solenoid valve and electrical control units are the important factors controlling the orifice sets.

The Z’s suspension is a 4-wheel independent multilink design based on the extensive use of components made of lightweight aluminum and standard front and rear stabilizer bars. The Touring and Grand Touring Coupe models have been additionally equipped with a Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System sound to match – one without the low frequency booming or rumbling or high-pitched mechanical sounds that can grow tiresome on long trips. Heated outside mirrors are also available for the new models
