Aston Martin DBS

The most eagerly anticipated car of the year, the 2008 Aston Martin DBS, will be unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d`Elegance on August 16th. Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez, commented that the DBS represented the ultimate expression of Aston Martin's technical ability and engineering. Its pure performance does not make any compromises. The DBS is a true thoroughbred even if it is at home or on a twisting mountain circuit as on the open road. It is a luxury sports car without equal due to the intelligent blend of Aston Martin`s unrivalled hand-build expertise, race-derived materials and components, innovative manufacturing processes and elegant design. It is planned to enter production at Aston Martin`s global headquarters at Gaydon, near Warwickshire in the UK, joining the current Aston Martin line-up with deliveries expected to begin during the first quarter of 2008. The prices will be confirmed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The DBS also delivers high levels of control and performance thanks to the powerful V12 engine, near-perfect weight distribution, new carbon ceramic brakes and an adaptive damper controlled suspension system. The design engineer`s ultimate goal was a lightweight, rigid structure, which achieves the right balance between strength and mass. Weight was considerably reduced due to the advanced materials used by the engineers, thus increasing the DBS`s performance and dynamics.Marek Reichman, Aston Martin`s Design Director, informed the enthusiasts that there were no restrictions on form or shape in using carbon-fibre and the material allowed them to wrap bodywork around the 20" wheels and maintain the precise relationship between the wheel and the bodywork. The new and sophisticated Adaptive Damping System allows instant adjustment of the car`s ride and handling characteristics, automatically altering the suspension settings to ensure the driver has high levels of control at all times. An outstanding sound quality is provided by Aston Martin 700 W Audio System, exclusively developed for Aston Martin.
