Jeep Grand Cherokee

The 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine which produces an increased output by 24 percent, resulting in 291 HP, an increased torque by 6 percent, 437 Nm, and it also features convenient fuel economy figures. Its improved interior and exterior design makes it unmistakable on the road, while the SIRIUS Backseat TV is a feature that is not to be found on other full-size sport-utility SUVs, thus making road trips with kids even more pleasant than they had been before. The system operates via two small roof-mounted antennas and an in-vehicle satellite video receiver. John Plecha, Director, Jeep Brand Marketing and Global Communications, stated that the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee set the benchmark for full-size SUVs with its choice of five engines, three four-wheel-drive systems and more premium amenities. The vehicle is scheduled to hit the dealerships beginning with this fall. The five engines are the 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine, the 3.7-liter V6 engine, the all-new 4.7-liter V8 engine, the 5.7-liter V8 HEMI and the 6.1-liter HEMI V8 engine. The new 4.7-liter V8 comprises an improved cylinder-head port flow, an increased compression ratio together with a new combustion system. The flex-fuel capability of the engine allows customers to use up to an 85 percent concentration of ethanol to fuel their vehicles. The induction system of the engine was significantly revised, thus obtaining the improvements in the new 4.7-liter V8, including an electronic throttle control. The more dominant and expressive front view is enhanced by the more circular headlamps and the lengthened grille. The lowering of the fog lamps has led to an increased perfromance. The interior boasts a whole new level of refinement with a two-tone instrument panel, a two-tone leather steering wheel, as well as bright chrome accent rings. Improved comfort and ergonomics are ensured by the door panels which have new armrests.
