Mazda Mazda5/Premacy

The world debut of the Mazda5 at the 2004 Paris Motor Show brought new depths to the Zoom-Zoom brand message of the Mazda Motor Corporation. The Mazda5 is about to redefine the space wagon segment with its unprecedented comfort, functionality, cabin utility and driving pleasure. The car model also announces to be highly comfortable due to its cabin which ensures conversation and communication among occupants, also being the embodiment of the innovative "6 + One" packaging concept that delivers maximum comfort to occupants of all six independent seats, thus providing convenience and comfort. The body design is subtle and sophisticated, resulting in dynamic driving performance. According to Stephen Odell, Mazda`s senior managing executive officer in charge of Global Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, the space wagon segment has exploded in Europe over the previous five years, reaching a growth of more than 200 percent in the five largest markets. Kenichi Fukunaga, Mazda5 Program Manager, explained to the enthusiasts the development goal of combining versatile practicality and maximum comfort with driving enjoyment and responsive handling. The communicative part of the product shows that Mazda5 is rich in user-friendly practicality, relating to the interface between the vehicle and users. The innovative styling which did not compromise the packaging efficiency, together with the high running, turning and stopping potential, make the dynamic part of the product concept. The space wagon part of the product concept is enhanced by the fact that all the benefits are offered in a space-efficient form. The proportions and balance of the Mazda5 deliver smart functionality, faithfully inheriting at the same time the benefits of Mazda's brand DNA. Two distinct exterior design appearances will be available for this Mazda model, aiming to meet the various needs of customers in the markets where the product is planned to be offered. A premiere in the class is represented by the large sliding doors on both sides. The tires used by this car are 205/55R16 and 205/50R17. A real challenge was given by the developing a low-profile fuel tank to realize a low, flat cabin floor without sacrificing fuel tank integrity or capacity for extended touring, thus providing a comfortably tall hip point for friends or family who sit in the third row seats. Operational ease for users of all heights and builds is maximised by the new plastic liftgate with two-step stop mechanism. Ultimately, this car proves that Mazda policy is one of continuous product development.
