Mazda RX-8 R3 Facelift

Carmaker Mazda is introducing a new model, the Mazda RX-8 R3, a four door coupe. Under the hood it hides an improved version of the 231 PS twin-rotor engine which improves steering, chassis, and engine responses. The engineers will provide more equipment and greater value. Sales will start in August and the price was established at EUR24.995. The specialists also offered a Sports Styling Pack, stiffer body shell, up-rated suspension, lower gearing and enhanced aerodynamics. The RX-8 is still the only rotary-engined production car in the world. With this pack Mazda is taking a step back towards its sports car heritage, giving its coupe the appearance of a Japanese racing car. The pack includes a sport front bumper, side skirts and rear wing all finished in body color. This model has always had the appearance of a classic sports car with a powerful looking and dynamic exterior design. The new R3 version enhances this with a new front bumper design that has a larger five-point grille and oil cooling openings. To transfer the output to the road, the engineers have offered all-new larger 19-inch alloy wheels with ultra-low profile 40 section tires. Its engine enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.4 seconds and to reach a top speed of 146 mph, so the EUR25.000 price is quite a good value. Every new Mazda RX-8 R3 will be offered with a new 6-speed manual gearbox developed from the transmission fitted in the smooth-shifting 3rd generation Mazda MX-5. The engineers have revised the steering and suspension delivering even better steering feel and driving stability. Also, the geometry of the multi-link rear suspension is fine tuned for increased stability. The exterior design was updated for improved aerodynamic performance and reduced lift, enhancing performance feel and high speed stability.
