Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series

The 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series has been a high-performance AMG vehicle that provided Formula One safety since 2006. It receives power via an AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine featuring a boosted performance of up to 500 HP and 470 lb-ft of torque, with power transmitted through the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC. By using the AMG aluminum shift paddles on the steering wheel, the driver is able to switch between the seven gears. The big AMG brake system integrating composite discs, the new steering, the 19-inch AMG forged wheels as well as the sophisticated AMG suspension, ensure top-rank handling. It reaches a maximum speed of 186 mph and accelerates from zero to 60 mph in only 4.1 seconds. Addressing all sports-car enthusiasts who value high competitiveness, the CLK 63 AMG Black Series boasts a striking front apron, flared wheel arches, diffusor-type rear apron and carbon-fiber airflow breakaway edge. The increase in power was achieved through the redesign of the intake and exhaust systems with full-length twin pipes. The lightweight carbon fiber composite material was used for the development of the front fenders, while the redesigned side skirts extend to the broad rear fenders. An additional transmission cooler, an optimized power steering cooler as well as a large main radiator, were built into the left front wheel arch in order to obtain greater stamina under extreme operating conditions.
