Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard Pullman

The 2008 Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard Pullman is a prestigious luxury limousine which offers the highest protection for governments, businesses, monarchs as well as heads of state. Based on the long version of the S 600 and featuring a substantially extended wheelbase, the Pullman Limousine is armoured, providing a high level of roominess, together with a fully equipped mobile office and outstanding comfort. The Mercedes-Benz' luxury limousines incorporate tradition and innovation as the German car manufacturer's main objective was to offer the highest level of protection for the official engagements of heads of state and monarchs. While in the past Pullman cars represented railroad sleeping cars integrating luxurious appointments, nowadays the name hints at the Mercedes-Benz cars comprising an extremely large passenger compartment in the rear and an extra-long wheelbase. Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler, stated that the new Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard Pullman continued the impressive tradition of Pullman cars and it would offer its customers an outstanding level of comfort, prestige and protection. Mercedes-Benz' technical achievements and vast experience in the domain of building luxury limousines with special protection, has always been appreciated by royalty and heads of state all over the world. The Pullman S 600 is powered by a 12-cylinder biturbo engine featuring a displacement of 5513 cc, an impressive output of 517 HP and 830 Nm of peak torque. An additional rear entrance with increased headroom was provided for the new State Limousine. After being tested and certified by state-approved organisations, the Highest Protection specified for this car is equivalent to resistance level B6/B7, further meeting requirements that are not stipulated by any standard. A fire-extinguishing system, a self-sealing fuel tank and run-flat tyres, make the additional safety features of the car. Furthermore, the paint quality and corrosion protection match the standards of conventional Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, allowing the Pullman Limousines to be serviced at any Mercedes-Benz service outlet world-wide. The first editions of the new Mercedes-Benz State Limousine are due to be delivered in late 2008.
