Volkswagen Caddy Topos Sail Concept

German carmaker Volkswagen will present the new Caddy Topos Sail design concept at the largest recreational vehicle show that takes place in Germany this weekend. The new model has a wooden boat deck on its roof and it has as base the smallest model in the VW Commercial Vehicle van range. You can have access to the wooden sun deck on the roof through four matching wooden and aluminum steps found in the tailgate of the Caddy. For a stronger impact, the specialists have provided wooden inserts along the side of the vehicle in the rear bumper. The new VW Caddy Topos Sail design concept car will have a lot of other new elements and will celebrate 20 years of the California camper. These became popular almost as soon as the Transporter van was introduced in the 1950s. The Californian variant was introduced in 1988 exactly when the 3rd generation of the VW Transporter was in production. The carmaker managed to sell more than 80.000 units of the 5th generation model. This makes it one of the most successful campers ever. The model we have today, which was introduced in 2006 is quite unique and it is now made by the German manufacturer. Actually, VW is the only automaker to produce its own camper. It is sold with a full three year warranty and it is built to the same high quality standards as the rest of the range. These are all the information available on the model so far on the matter, on the new VW Caddy Topos Sail design concept car.
