Volkswagen Golf GTI Pirelli

It seems that the Pirelli name will be part of the Volkswagen Golf GTI range. This comes exactly after 25 years since the original made its debut. Now, the VW Golf GTI Pirelli is launched in the UK. The GTI Pirelli was first launched back in 1983 and had as base the MkI Golf and it used Pirelli P alloy wheels. The specialists had a lot of success with the model and managed to sell 10.500 vehicles very fast, in six months to be more precise. The new GTI Pirelli returns on the British market using as base the MkV GTI body shell. It has updated dynamics and aesthetics which make it easier to recognize from the standard vehicle. Under the hood it hides a 2.0-liter T-FSI engine capable of developing 230 PS. All the output is being sent the wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission or through the twin-clutch DSG gearbox. This actually enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds and to reach a top speed of 152 mph. The new car also uses a set of unique alloy wheels. A unique Pirelli badge mounted on the boot lid further distinguishes the new car which will be available in a choice of three colors reflex silver, diamond black and blue graphite. On the inside, the model features unique half-leather sports seats with tire-tread imprints set onto the seat base and back. The standard specification remains high despite the focused nature of the vehicle. The German specialists have decided to equip the model with a total of six airbags and 2Zone electronic climate control, a CD stereo system and Electronic Stabilization Programme are all fitted as standard. The new VW Golf GTI Pirelli is available for order. Deliveries will start in June and the price was established at EUR22.555 for the 3-door model equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 5-door model equipped with a 6-speed DSG gearbox has a starting price of EUR24.385.
