The new 2009 Dodge Challenger is a model that combines incredible design, world-class handling, powerful engines and new technology for the delight of its enthusiasts. This is actually the first 5-passenger, 2-door coupe that delivers the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. The Dodge Challenger R/T is powered by a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine capable of developing 370 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. To send the power to the wheels, Dodge uses a 5-speed automatic transmission. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than six seconds. The Dodge Challenger SRT8 features an SRT 6.1-liter HEMI V8 engine that uses a 6-speed transmission or a 5-speed automatic one to send the power to the wheels. This engine is capable of producing 425 horsepower and 569 Nm of torque. The output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5.0 seconds. Then there is the Dodge Challenger SE. this model features a 3.5-liter High Output V6 engine. To send the power to the wheels, the carmaker equipped the model with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine is capable of producing 250 horsepower and 339 Nm of torque. The front suspension and 5-link independent rear suspension system on all Dodge Challenger models provide excellent ride and handling characteristics. On the exterior, the long, raised performance hood with scoops and recessed grille with round dual headlamps are reminiscent of the original Dodge Challenger. On the interior, the trapezoidal theme of the door-panel cove and gauge cluster, dark headliner and slanted shifter console are inspired by the original Dodge Challenger. The all-new 2009 Dodge Challenger will be built at the Brampton Assembly plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. It will be built on the same assembly line as the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger.
