Dodge Ram Lone Star Edition

Dodge will introduce the all-new 2009 Lone Star Edition Dodge Ram 1500, a Texas-exclusive model in the 2009 Dodge Ram lineup. It arrives this month with a lot of special equipment and enhancements. The all-new model begins as a Ram Crew 1500 SLT model in either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, with more than 35 new improved features when compared to the previous light-duty Dodge Ram. Some of these features include a five-link rear suspension fitted to a solid rear axle that provides the required towing and payload capability, with wide ride and handling unexpected in a pickup truck. The model is first in its segment with store-in-the-floor bins. Under the hood it hides a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine capable of developing 390 horsepower and 407 lb. ft. of torque. Thanks to the improved aerodynamics, the model has lower fuel consumption and improved performance. The model is the first in the segment to feature factory-installed 4-inch dual exhaust styled dramatically into the rear bumper. It features standard front and rear side-curtain airbags, 4-wheel Anti-lock Brake System and Electronic Stability Program. The interior of the model was also improved. The price for the equipment was established at $1.500. The all-new 2009 Lone Star Edition Dodge Ram is built at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Warren, Michigan and at the St. Louis North Assembly Plant in Fenton. Back in 2007, Dodge managed to sell more than 1.3 million vehicles in the global market. The first crossover vehicle ever developed by Dodge is the all-new 2009 Dodge Journey and it arrived in dealerships in the first quarter of this year. It is now available outside North America in petrol and diesel power trains in both left- and right-hand drive. Later in 2008, the carmaker will add three more vehicles to its product lineup.
