Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo

The fastest one-make series in the world, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo was announced today by the Italian carmaker. The date of the debut was established for May 2009. The model is actually a lightweight version of the Gallardo LP 540-4 super sport, a model that has been developed a bit earlier. Its V10 engine will be capable of developing 570 horsepower and the objective the carmaker has is a very simple one. They want to be sure the Super Trofeo is the fastest one-make series in the world. It will be available with four-wheel drive, and this actually makes it the only all-wheel drive motorsport series. One factory car will be included in the line up at each round. This model offers clients, but also professional and gentleman racing drivers looking for a new challenge, the opportunity to experience Lamborghini in the ultimate driving environment. The first race will take place on May 3rd at the Silverstone circuit in the UK, followed by Adria in Italy on May 17th, Germany on July 5th, Belgium on August 2nd, and Spain September 20th and Monza, Italy on the 4th of October. The new Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo will run over European race weekends alongside other prestigious series such as the FIA GT Championship, DTM and FIA World Touring Car Championship. The results of the three races are added together and the cars cannot be modified during the season. The starting price for the new Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo was established at EUR200.000 plus tax and can be purchased through Lamborghini dealerships with support and parts sales trackside. The style of the new model will impress both drivers, sponsors and guests for that matter, for sure.
