Lexus IS 250 Sports Concept

At the 2008 Australian Motor Show, Japanese carmaker Lexus has previewed a sports-inspired model, the IS 250 Sports Concept, a model that has as base the well-known IS 250. Its main new components received include brakes, shock absorbers, sway bars, chassis braces, air intake, engine cover and spoilers. To transfer the output to the road, the engineers have received 19-inch wheels. The braking package offered for the Sports Concept is designed to increase stopping power and reduce fade. Actually it includes six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston at the back. The carmaker fitted it with co-development Bilstein shock absorbers and springs, which deliver a firmer ride, increased stability for track use and reduced body roll. This way handling is reduced. Under the hood, the model receives a performance air intake, resulting in a 3 % power increase and a carbon-fiber movement. The engineers also provided a performance clutch that delivers a 16 % increase in clamping force, delivering a sportier pedal feel and increased power delivery. If you think this is all, you could not be more wrong. The specialists have also provided front and rear lip spoilers and striking lightweight graphite grey, 10-spoke, and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. Apparently the performance accessories fitted to IS 250 Sports Concept were currently under consideration for Australia. By adding more performance enhancements to the IS range, the carmaker might be able of attracting more people to the Lexus brand. These are all the information available on the model, now we will have to wait for the real thing to appear on the market. Only then we will be able to see the true reaction of the customers.
