The launch of the freshened Mazda RX-8 has been announced by Japan-Mazda Motor Corporation, a car model enhanced by outstanding driving performance together with a bolder styling. The debut of the four-seat RX-8 sports car took place in Japan in May 2003 and the new version brings new levels of the high performance, featuring enhanced quality and packaging, providing exceptional driving pleasure. Improved quality and fresh new styling are featured by the exterior design due to the larger air intakes in the front bumper, improving engine cooling and emphasizing the athletic styling, rear combination lights that incorporate LED lamps, side air vents integrated with the turn indicators and side marker lamps integrated with the headlight units. Densely woven black fabric seats offering first-rate body support, have significantly improved interior quality with a new tachometer featuring silver markings and white illumination, enhancing the vehicle`s sporty feel. The rotary engine's performance has been improved by new water and oil pumps, thus ensuring a better acceleration feel. Furthermore, great sports car performance is provided by increased local rigidity and improved aerodynamics through a redesign of the body structure. The sporty appeal of the freshened RX-8 model range is emphasized by the Bilstein dampers, 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, as well as exclusive aero parts, which include large front aero bumper, side under spoilers, and rear spoiler in order to create a more muscular impression and increase stability at highway speeds. The new high quality exterior colors, Sparkling Black Mica, Diamond Grey Metallic and the sporty Aurora Blue Mica, bring the total range to eight body colors. According to the manufacturer, the suggested retail prices vary from 2,600,00 to 3,150,000 yen, including the consumption tax.
