Renault Clio RenaultSport 200 and Clio RS 200 Cup

French carmaker Renault has chosen the 2009 Geneva Motor Show to reveal the new Clio Renaultsport 200. For the UK customers, the model comes in a choice of two versions. The first one is the Clio Renaultsport 200, equipped with the sport chassis and was developed for the ones looking for comfortable, well-equipped sporting hatchbacks. The second option is the Clio Renaultsport 200 Cup, built for enthusiasts looking for a fusion of performance and sporty ride. The Clio Renaultsport 200 is manufactured in France and will be launched in the UK in May. It features the sport chassis which has been upgraded with a view to delivering great ride / handling balance. The carmaker offers a list of personalization options like a new, wider range of body colors, interior trims, upholsteries and alloy wheels. The Clio Renaultsport 200 Cup is equipped with the stiffer Cup chassis and it is 36 kg lighter than the standard 200 version. This version actually has a lower equipment level than the standard Clio Renaultsport 200. The Clio Renaultsport 200 receives power from a 2.0-liter 16V engine capable of developing 200 horsepower and 215 Nm of torque. This output enables it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 141 mph. It is built on the same platform and is equipped with the 3rd generation Renault System for Restraint and Protection. It is engineered to provide uncompromising protection for all occupants. At the front it has an independent steering axis front suspension and at the rear programmed deflection torsion beam. To send the power to the road, the engineers have used 215 / 45 R17 tires.
