Volkswagen Polo 5 (UK Version)

German carmaker Volkswagen announced the price list for the Polo. The model is available now in UK Retailers. The first customers will get the keys of their new brand car on October 16th. The 1.2-liter five door model, capable of developing 60 PS has a starting price of EUR10.035. The three-door one will only be available in December. Even if its size increased, the Polo is lighter than the model it replaces leading to improved fuel-economy and emissions. It also remains true to the core values of the brand in terms of safety, reliability, quality and value of money. The carmaker also offers a choice of five engines, three petrol and two diesels. To be more precise, these are a pair of naturally-aspirated 1.2-liter engines capable of developing 60 or 70 PS and a 1.4-liter capable of developing 85 PS. There is also a 1.6-liter common rail TDI unit producing 75 or 90 PS. At the beginning of 2010, the carmaker will also offer a new 1.2-liter turbocharged TSI capable of developing 105 PS. The standard equipment includes touch-screen satellite navigation, a DAB digital radio and electronic climate control. The carmaker hopes to hell approximately 7.000 units in 2009 and to increase this number by 2010 to 37.000. Other variants on the price list include the S 1.2-liter 5-speed manual unit that is capable of developing 70 PS and it is priced at EUR10.645, the SE TDI 1.6 75 PS 5-speed manual priced at EUR13.205 and the SEL TDI 1.6-liter capable of developing 90 PS and that sends the power to the wheels though a 5-speed manual transmission. This one has a starting price of EUR14.910. There is also the SEL 1.4-liter 7-speed DSG unit that produces 85 PS priced at EUR14.775, the SEL 1.4 85 PS 5-speed manual unit that has a starting price of EUR13.575 and a lot more.
