VW CC Gold Coast

German carmaker VW developed the new CC for the American customers. The model will be officially revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours dElegance at the middle of August. Its complete name is the VW CC Gold Coast edition and it highlights the luxury sports coupe with powerful performance, strong lines and luxury touches combining the emotional and expressive stance of a sports coupe with the convenience of a luxury sedan. The CC Gold Coast has ground effects that highlight the front-end with two cross-struts and a centrally placed VW logo between trapezoidal headlamps. At the back it has large surface dual taillights that produce an unmistakable visual image day and night. The engineers have provided 19-inch propeller style wheels to transfer the output to the road and which provide a combination of sharp style and improved curb appeal. On the inside, the new model received four ergonomically formed sport seats covered in luxurious leather. Under the hood it hides a 3.6-liter TFSI engine capable of generating 280 horsepower and 265 lb. ft. of torque. To transfer the output to the wheels, the engineers have offered the innovative DSG double-clutch 6-speed automatic transmission with tip Tronic, yet another example of the dual nature of the car. This DSG system offers the driver the advantage of choosing between fully automatic operation and full manual selection. This is not all. It also changes gears more quickly and smoothly than a conventional gearbox, while improving fuel consumption. The carmaker established a starting price of $27.000 and it seems that the new CC will be available in US dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2008.
