200 HP Citroen DS3 Racing Limited Edition

At the Geneva motor Show, Citroen is unveiling a hot new DS3, the limited edition 200 hp DS3 Racing. The model is actually a special edition with a 100% sporting pedigree. Only 1.000 production units will be built planned for the second half of 2010. Under the hood it features a turbo-charged 1.6-liter THP 150 engine capable of developing 200 horsepower. This represents a power increase of almost 30% over the standard unit, with a torque increase of 15% from 240 Nm to 275 Nm. To get this extra power, the engineers have modified and optimized the power-train components, tuned the performance of the turbo and adjusted the mapping of the engine control unit. The carmaker also added a special tail pipe and muffler. The steering has been made even more precise, with the control system modified for the new tires. These important developments reinforce both the stability and dynamic control of the car and enhance the feedback between the road and the driver. To handle the extra power, the braking system was also improved. A sporty finish is used around the front bumper, lower body trim and wing extensions, whilst large 18-inch alloy wheels and even a chrome-finished exhaust complete that dynamic styling. For the interior, the carmaker offers smart carbon trim elements for the dashboard, center console, armrests and door side moldings. The alloy wheels and front grille surround are finished in orange chrome. The sporty, figure-hugging seats are also touched with orange elements and are embossed with Citroen Racing. The Citroen DS3 Racing editions will be finished in a special workshop and fitted with a parts kit developed according to Citroen Racing specifications. The exclusivity of the model is confirmed by the DS3 Racing signature found on the rear tailgate and by an individually numbered identification plate fixed on the roof-lining.
