American carmaker Ford developed the new 2010 Shelby GT500, a model that is scheduled to reach showrooms in the spring. In addition to the different performance and refinement improvements inside and out, the 2010 Shelby GT500 uses around 2 mpg on the highway. It also offers a great combination of power, handling and braking. Ford and Shelby teams have developed a new system to continuously improve the iconic Mustang. The combination of added horsepower, refinement and functionality makes the 2010 Shelby GT500 a unique high-performance car. It delivers more horsepower and more torque than the outgoing model, thanks in part to advancements pioneered on the GT500KR. Under the hood, the new 2010 Shelby GT500 hides a supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter dual overhead cam V8 engine that is expected to produce 540 horsepower and 510 lb. ft. of torque. to transfer the output to the road, the specialists have provided a twin-disc clutch on the 6-speed manual gearbox. A unique component of the twin-disc system is the control of the intermediate disc. The new model offers customers improved straight-line acceleration, plus fuel savings when cruising on the highway in the top gears. Spring and dampers have been improved for better roll control, giving customers more confidence when braking, accelerating or turning. In terms of exterior modifications there are also the unique signature coiled Cobra badges on the front grille and front fenders, a more aggressive front splitter and lower-drag rear spoiler, which added to improve aerodynamics features, round out the exterior modifications. The base 2010 Mustang received a powerful new interior design. The model will be built at the Auto Alliance International Plant in Michigan so if you are one of the interested ones, you will have to wait till the spring to get it.
