Lotus Evora Cup

Lotus announced the Evora Cup race car together with an innovative European points based race series for 2010. To be more precise, the race car will have its public debut at the Autosport International racing car show in Birmingham, UK. The event will take place on the 14th of January 2010. The Evora is a model that features many race car elements that offer incredible handling and performance. The super-stiff extruded and bonded aluminum chassis and double wishbone suspension all around make the progression from the production car to a competitive race car easily. The Evora Cup race car has been developed by Lotus Motorsport and it has been designed to offer a level of performance that makes it competitive in GT4 racing. The model is finished in Epsom Green with a Solar Yellow stripe down the center. It will offer a great platform to race in high level motor sport. Under the hood it hides a 4.0-liter V6 race engine capable of developing 400 PS. It also offers a dry sump system for the high cornering forces encountered during racing. The output is being transferred to the wheels through a Cima 6-speed sequential paddle shift transmission designed for international motor sport. The body of the Evora has received an aero package which includes a number of updated carbon fiber parts and significantly improves performance for racing applications, giving greater down-force and improved cooling. The models will be available with adjustable motor sport dampers and 6-piston front brake calipers with two piece aluminum belled brake discs. The final design and specifications will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, in March 2010. The championship winner will be the driver who accrues the most number of points from a maximum of 6 races over the 2010 season.
