Mercedes F800 Style Concept

German specialists from Mercedes-Benz developed the F800 Style Concept, a five-seat premium sedan that combines highly efficient drive technologies with unparalleled safety and convenience features in a harmonious way. One of its unique features is an all-new multi drive platform, which accommodates electric drives with fuel cells as well as the use of Plug-in Hybrids that can drive for up to 18 miles only on electricity. The powerful Plug-in Hybrid drive system of the F800 Style consists of a V6 gasoline engine capable of developing 300 horsepower with next-generation direct injection and a hybrid module with an output of 109 horsepower. So, in the end, it delivers 409 horsepower. Its lithium-ion battery capable of more than 10 kW can be recharged at a charging station or a household power socket. The German carmaker will begin series production of the S500 Plug-in Hybrid with the introduction of the next-generation S-Class. Thanks to the battery-electric driving mode, the vehicle has a certified fuel consumption of only 2.9-liters of gasoline per 100 km. The F800 Style equipped with a Plug-in Hybrid is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 155 mph. On electric mode only, the car can reach a top speed of 75 mph. All the output is being sent to the wheels through a 7-speed transmission. The battery is located under the seat and this way it creates a low center of gravity ensuring maximum safety in case a crash occurs. The F800 Style also offers clean driving pleasure in the variant equipped with an electric drive based on fuel cell technology. The electric motor develops 136 horsepower and 214 lb. ft. of torque. The new research vehicle has the fuel cell located in the front, while the compact electric motor is installed near the rear axle. Mercedes-Benz vehicles will continue to amaze.
