Australian Mini John Cooper Works Challenge Edition

Mini developed the new race-inspired Mini John Cooper Works Challenge Edition, offering more performance and more customization. This release draws John Cooper Works even closer to the Mini Challenge race car, both in its appearance and performance. Under the hood it has the same power-plant as the Mini Challenge race car capable of developing 155 kW and 260 Nm of torque from a twin-scroll turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine. This enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 6.5 seconds. The Mini John Cooper Works Challenge Edition features different elements available only for the Australian market like John Cooper Works aerodynamics package consisting of front, rear side aprons, a new carbon spoiler developed by John Cooper Works, rear and side aprons, aluminum cross brace and Alcantara and Carbon steering wheel, Carbon gearshift knob with Alcantara shroud. The Challenge Edition is now available with Mini John Cooper Hardtop, Cabriolet and Clubman models. The Challenge Edition is available for a limited time as a $2.500 option. Last year, like never before, the sales of Mini John Cooper Works reached 26% of Mini Cooper S Hardtop sales and 10% of the entire model range. The 2010Mini Challenge season will begin in March and the categories will debut in Adelaide at the Clipsal 500.
