Pontiac G8 Sport Truck

The new 2010 Pontiac G8 sport truck is creating an all-new segment in the North American car market. It has as base the Pontial G8 performance sedan and it is the newest member of the G8 family. It has a longer wheelbase and a cargo bed suitable for either work or recreation. Another great aspect of this new vehicle is the fact that it will be named by a consumer. The ones interested in the contest should visit their official web site and rear the rules of the competition. The winner will be announced on the 15th of April. The model maintains the same sporty exterior design as its sedan. The roofline has a coupe-like profile that reflects the performance pedigree of the vehicle. Under the hood it has the same 6.0-liter V8 engine used in the G8 GT, capable of generating 361 horsepower and 522 Nm of torque. To transfer the output to the wheels, the engineers have provided a 6-speed automatic transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. The G8 sport truck has as base the same rear-wheel drive architecture ad the G8 performance sedan. More than 60 new components were added to strengthen the structure. A 4-wheel independent suspension with electronic stability control delivers confident handling, whether loaded with weekend home-improvement supplies or towing a pair of personal watercraft to the lake. The sport front stabilizer bar is one mm larger than the sedan and the rear suspension has been enhanced to support payloads without adversely affecting handling. In terms of comfort, the carmaker has provided air conditioning with electronic dual zone climate control, cruise control, driver information center, Bluetooth connectivity, theft-deterrent alarm system and a lot more. Behind the seats there is a large interior cargo area with more than 245 liters of storage space.
