Ginetta revealed its latest achievement, the Ginetta G40 at the Autosport International exhibition in Birmingham. This new model will be the first multi-platform road and race car in the UK and is set to make its debut on the BTCC-supporting 2010 Ginetta Junior Championship. At the same event, the carmaker presented for the first time, both the G50 and the G50Z. The G40 on the other hand is the most versatile road and race car on the market today as it features safety elements that exceed all FIA regulations. The specialists are sure the model will kick off the season in style and will be the car to watch in 2010. Under the hood it hides a 1800cc sealed Zetec engine and a proposed weight of 850 kg. The main features of the G40 are the safety cage that is 50 times stronger than the minimum 2009 FIA homologation regulations, front and rear crash zones, updated side impact bars, increased occupant safety and visibility, adjustable interfaces to maximize comfort and comfortable dual occupancy. The activity of Ginetta started back in 1958 and today, is a major player on the motorsport scene in the UK and also abroad. Its own three single make Championship are renewed for their entertaining close racing plus cater for novices and the career-minded alike. The models they develop are suitable as track day cars or leisure, pleasure and everyday use, high performance, affordability and drivability are the key. In September 2009, Nigel Mansell will be behind the steering wheel of a Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S at Silverstone in the Le Mans Series finale with his son Greg and Ginetta Chairman, Laurance Tomlinson.
