Subaru Legacy Sedan

Subaru introduces the new Legacy Sedan at the New York International Auto Show. the model features symmetrical all-wheel drive with the original horizontally-opposed engine that offer great driving performance and vital environmental considerations, while providing increased room and unparalleled comfort. On an all-new platform, the new Subaru Legacy sedan offers roominess comparable to mainstream midsize sedans in the North American market. In comparison to the previous model, the new Legacy sedan is 35 mm longer, 90 mm wider and 80 mm higher. The wheelbase is expanded by 80 mm, allowing for additional rear legroom. The carmaker offers the model with three engine options. The first one is a 2.5i-liter capable of generating 170 horsepower and 170 lb. ft. of torque. This engine uses a 6-speed manual transmission to transfer the output to the wheels. Next on the list we have the 2.5GT capable of producing 265 horsepower and 258 lb. ft. of torque. This unit is also paired to a 6-speed manual. Last, but not least we have the 3.6R engine capable of generating 256 horsepower and 247 lb. ft. of torque. This unit uses a 5-speed automatic gearbox. Fuel economy id improved through the reduction of friction and weight in the automatic transmission unit. For the first time in the US market, the 6-speed manual transmission is offered with 2.5-liter non-turbo Legacy model. The new 6MT provides excellent fuel economy and improved drivability, but also quieter rides in high-speed ranges. The compact design of the modified 6-speed transmission for turbo engine models is made possible by optimizing the gear layout. The body styles available are 4-door and 5-passenger. Premium grade models offer additional comfort and convenience options, including a Harman-Kardon audio system and a power moon roof with a tilt-up and slide mechanism. All the specifications are preliminary and can change.
