With its public debut scheduled for 2010 SEMA Show, the RK Collection Toyota Camry NASCAR Edition was developed by RK Collection and was aimed to visualise the virtues of a standard Camry and then morphing them into a powerful NASCAR counterpart. Rob Kauffman was the inspirer of the project and he is currently the founder and co-owner of the NASCAR team Michael Waltrip Racing. When the engineers designed the vehicle, they wished to demonsrate the link between Toyota's production vehicles and its strong NASCAR program and to showcase the technical alliance between RKC and TRD.
RKC custom made 2010 Camry two-door body sheet metal was used to make the exterior shell of the vehicle, while underneath it, one will find a powerful TRD NASCAR V8 engine, that delivers 680 HP at 8,500 rpm and it is coupled to a Tremic T-56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission.
A Venza modified multi-link independent suspension in the rear together with Camry modified Macpherson struts in the front, ensure race car handling. Furthermore, a custom three-inch exhaust with X-pipe, Thrush mufflers, high temperature turbo Black coating and custom side exhaust tips deliver the high performance of the NASCAR Camry.
The interior provides comfort and style with the Vintage Air air conditioning system, custom leather-covered panels, leather-covered power seats with custom TRD billet logos and a suede headliner with integrated rear tweeters.
The enthusiasts can admire the RK Collection Toyota Camry NASCAR Edition during the NASCAR race weekend, beginning with November 12 at the Phoenix International Raceway, after the SEMA debut.
