The 2011 Hartge H35d based on BMW 5-Series F10 was chosen by the readers of a famous specialist magazine to be the most sporting car of 2011, in the diesel category. Exhilarating performance is its distinguishing feature, boasting 354 HP at 3,400 rpm, an impressive power output which was achieved due to the power-boosting module, which also ensured 700 Nm of peak torque at 1,800 rpm. The CO2 emissions were not affected by the increase of 54 HP, producing 162 g/km,thus meeting the Euro 5 compliants. The H35d was lowered by 30 mm as compared to the standard model, while the special appearance on the road is stressed by the ten-spoke wheel fitted with Yokohama Advan Sport tyres. The unique design details show a set of emblems for the bonnet and boot lid, matt-silver stripes, together with a discrete Hartge insignia. The refined interior offers driving excitement through the threespoke sports leather steering wheel, a two-piece set of aluminum pedals for the automatic transmission, black velour foot and boot mats. The sprinting abilities of the H35d provide 200 km/h achieved in less than 5.2 seconds and a electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Hartge H35d based on BMW 5-Series F10 review:
Chosen by the readers of a renowned specialist magazine as the most sporting car of 2011 in the diesel category, the Hartge H35d is distinguished by an exhilarating performance. Hartge, an important manufacturer of BMW-based sports cars for 40 years, has coaxed a massive 354 hp (260 kW) at 3400 rpm from the 535d (F10). This increase of 54 hp compared to the standard car with its 300 hp (220 kW) has been achieved by a power-boosting module, which is not only highly efficient in terms of fuel consumption but also results in max. torque of 700 Nm at 1800 rpm. Despite its highperformance potential, the Hartge H35d still falls in the 'green' area of the planned German ecological seal with a CO2 emission of 162 g/km (Euro 5 emission standard).
Thanks to the Hartge sports spring set, the H35d sits 30 mm lower than the standard car. And typical of Hartge is the 'Classic 2' wheel set. This ten-spoke wheel (8.5 x 21", offset 34, at the front and 9.5 x 21", offset 55, at the back) is fitted with Yokohama Advan Sport tyres (255/30 ZR 21 at the front and 295/25 ZR 21 at the back). The stainless-steel rear silencer with dual round tail pipes (80 mm diameter) generates a dynamic melody that masks the otherwise barely audible diesel sound. Design details ensuring an individual appearance include carbon casings for the exterior mirrors, matt-silver stripes, a set of emblems for the bonnet and boot lid, as well as a discrete Hartge insignia.
Traditional is the Hartge range of products for the interior, which includes a threespoke sports leather steering wheel with a Hartge emblem in aluminium, a carbon steering-wheel cover, a two-piece set of aluminium pedals for the automatic transmission, stainless-steel sill covers front and rear and black velour foot and boot mats.
The sporting nature of the H35d is demonstrated not only by its excellent handling but also by its sprinting abilities. It knocks 0.5 seconds from its standard brother's time for the standing start to 100 km/h and no less than 5.2 seconds to 200 km/h. The maximum speed of this elegant saloon is currently limited electronically to 250 km/h. However, Hartge will soon be able to release it from this 'speed corset'.
