The engineers from Duesseldorf did an astonishing work when creating a special Body Kit utilizing Silver Carbon Fiber, available for the 2011 Ferrari California. The extensive wind-tunnel testing slightly improved the carbon fiber components which stay mostly loyal to their original lines. The upforce on the rear axle is minimized by the silver carbon fiber rear diffuser, while the new look and aerodynamic package are completed by the refined license plate by making use of a silver carbon fiber apron. The compressor engine received an increased ability of 606 PS due to the combination of turbo chargers and other engine modifications, making the four-seater capable of reaching a top speed of 325km/h, of which 100 km/h are covered in only 3.9 seconds. The new exhaust system was made of T309 stainless steel and it is available with an improved X-Pipe and 200 cell catalysts, fully controlable through an on-board valve control system.
Ferrari California 3S Silver Carbon Fiber by DMC review:
OFFICIAL WORLD PREMIER: DMC to unveil it's "3S" Ferrari California.
German Luxury Tuner DMC took a regular Ferrari California and turned it into a Carbon Fiber PS Monster.
The Duesseldorf based engineers created a special Body Kit utilizing Silver Carbon Fiber. It was the choice of this exclusive material which gave the 3S it's name: Surfista Silver Star. While the carbon fiber components stay mostly loyal to their original lines, they were slightly improved after extensive wind-tunnel testing:
On the front, a silver carbon fiber splitter not only looks good but also improves downforce on the front axle at high speeds. On the rear, a silver carbon fiber rear diffuser minimizes the upforce on the rear axle. The license plate bay is refined using a silber carbon fiber apron, which completes the new look and aerodynamic package for the California.
Using physical engine modification combined with turbo chargers, the Germans were able to present a compressor engine that received an increased ability of 606 PS (446 kW), up from 460 PS (338 kW). Utilizing these new muscles, the 4 seater is now able to reach a 325 KM/H maximum, 100 KM/H are reached after 3.9 seconds.
The engine is modified using a turbo-loader in combination with physically enlarged injection nozzles and a new tailor made crankshaft. It is supported by a new exhaust sytem that is made if T309 stainless steel. It comes with 200 cell catalysts and an improved X-Pipe and is fully controlable via an on-board valve control system.
In order to control these massive powers, DMC's engineers took a special alliance with Miami based wheel maker ADV1. The renowned company brought in their 21 and 22 inch rims, which are supplying the necessary grip-base to keep the 3S on the street. On the front, 9Jx21" rims are used while the rear utilizes 11.5Jx22". This combination adds an aggressive wedge look to the overall appearance, accompanying the dynamic look of DMC's styling package.
