Ford Mad Max Interceptor concept

Two spectacular new Mad Max Interceptors have been unveiled by Ford Australia in partnership with TopGear Australia magazine, aiming to celebrate the revival of the Mad max action movie genre. This event takes places thirty years after the original Mad Max movie appeared with Mel Gibson in the main role and driving a jet black Ford XB coupe-based Interceptor. Chris Svensson, Ford Australia's Melbourne-based Asia, Pacific and Australia Design Director, announced that the entire team was very excited with the project and they received it with a lot of enthusiasm. They used a special screening of the original movie so that the ones who were too young to remember the movie, could understand the idea.
Nima Nourian and Simon Brook made two concepts which were chosen by the magazine as they pointed to a body design, power sources and weaponry that were taken to a futurisic level. Nourian paid a tribute to the 1970s Interceptor, taking it a step further into the future, while Brook's design takes the cues from the current FG Falcon, but adding touches of the retro Interceptor as well.
