Mercedes-Benz presents this visionary outlook, aiming to highlight 125 years of the automobile and thus, hinting at future trends and preparing an innovative premium concept for large, luxurious automobiles. The F 125! highlights the potential of H2 as an energy source for the future as it adopts the vision of emission-free driving with hydrogen power. Prof. Dr. Thomas Weber, member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development, informed that, with the F 125!, they aimed to show that large and comfortable cars had an excellent future, partly because they were able to operate with no emissions and the S-Class would continue into the future thanks to intelligent solutions that focused on customers' needs. He added that the new research vehicle illustrated and underlined the claim to leadership with innovative ideas and traditional Mercedes strengths in the areas of design, safety, comfort and performance. The most decisive innovations include the development of the fuel cell drive system combined with plug-in technology, a revolutionary tank technology as well as lighter and more powerful batteries. Following these innovations, the F 125! appears as a four-seater luxury saloon featuring a powerful, emission-free electric drive system based on the fuel cell technology developed to series production maturity by Mercedes-Benz.
