Featuring CO2 emissions of 98 g/km, together with a new look and a new range of innovative technology, the new Peugeot 308 will hit the UK markets in May. At its launch it will offer four petrol and four diesel engines.
The new Peugeot 308 will be available in four multi-model trim levels, Access, SR, Active and Allure, and three body styles: Hatchback, CC and SW,which acquire a more technological elegance.
Its elegant and modern look is given by the running lights and the latest LED headlamps placed at the front. The reduced CO2 emissions are the result of the combination between Peugeot's latest technology of micro-hybrid e-HDi Stop & Start and the class leading 1.6-liter HDi FAP 112 Euro 5 diesel engine, mated to a semi-automatic gearbox and, for the first time, with a full manual gearbox, for optimal driveability.
Six SMART safety airbags, front and rear electric windows, ABS, EBFD, EBA as well as air conditioning, are standard features for all models.
The design of the 308 facelift appears with unchanged dimensions, but with an emphasized athletic poise and greater prominenece was given to the sheer metal by making the central protective capping thinner. The new front grille is enhanced by a satin chrome bead and horizontal bars, which are available in lustrous black or chrome, depending on the body shape. The sides of the car echoe the dynamism of the front aspect, with a styling line that runs from the front wheel arches, then crosses the side of the body and the rear lights and finally comes to an end in the lower section.
A wide boot aperture has been enhanced by the design of the contours of the robust lower panel and the rear lights.
Unimpeded exterior visibility is provided by a particularly inclined fascia panel, while leather trim, chromeand black lacquered materials provide a sense of perceived quality. The 4 seats are elegant with integral head restraints, which convey a touring car image. The 308 is one of the most spacious cars in the segment, due to many clever storage spaces available inside.
