Porsche 911 Black Edition

An extremely attractive special edition, named Porsche 911 Black Edition, is going to make the world of the 911 even more interesting. It is available only in black and as a Coupe or Cabriolet, based on the 345 Carrera and limited to 1,911 units, costing exactly as much as the Carrera basic models. The Cabrio hood is principally of black cloth with the color highlights provided by the 19 inch 911 Turbo II bi-color wheels. A first hint of the high-quality interior design which demonstrates the purest sport values, is given by "The Black Edition's" black lettering. The interior was equipped with high-quality partial leather seats, a sports design steering wheel, while on the compartment lid, a badge testifies to the 911 Black Edition's limited production run. The BOSE Surround Sound-System was specially coordinated with the interior of the 911 Carrera models and incorporates 13 loudspeakers and the GPS navigation module available as standard in the 911 Black Edition together with an enhanced equipment package which comprises cruise control, parking assistant, exterior mirrors and a rain sensor.
A typical Carrera flat-six cylinder engine conforms to the high Carrera standard and produces 345 hp at 6,500 rpm from 3,614 cubic centimetres, mated to a six-speed gearbox, an output which allows the Carrera to achieve a top speed of 289 km/h.
Some technical special equipment options are comprised in the 911 Black Edition, such as the PDK, with which the Coupe accomplishes the sprint in only 4.7 seconds and the Cabrio in 4.9 seconds, while the responsiveness is enhanced by the Sport Chrono Plus package. Finally, the Launch Control shaves 0.2 seconds off the acceleration times of vehicles equipped with PDK.
The braking performance was optimised by the Porsche ceramic Composite Brake with ceramic disc option.
