The 2012 Audi RS 5 Facelift offers its enthusiasts a powerful handling and a high-performance package embodied in an elegant coupe. Its high-reviving, normally aspirated V8 engine of 4,163 cc, produces 331 kW at 8,250 rpm as well as a peak torque of 430 Nm which is available between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. The V8 is marked as thorough racing engine due to the rich and melodious sound. Furthermore, the 4.2 FSI makes the Coupe cover the 0-100 km/h sprint in only 4.6 seconds, while the increased electronically maximum speed reaches 280 km/h. The fuel consumption was significantly reduced due to the combination of technologies from the Audi modular efficiency platform, including a recuperation system. Another important factor in obtaining low fuel economy is the high efficienct seven-speed S tronic transmission and drivers are able to shift automatically or change gears themselves by using the selector lever or with paddles on the steering wheel.
The RS 5 Coupe features permanent all-wheel drive and the crown-gear center differential at its heart appears as compact and lightweight. Supreme stability, high cornering speeds, fast and precise turn-in are ensured by the chassis of the RS 5 Coupe, while highly precise road feel is provided by the new speed-dependent power steering which is an electromechanical system featuring a direct steering ratio.
The Audi drive select driving dynamics system comes standard with the RS 5 Coupe and it allows allows the driver to select between three modes, comfort, auto and dynamic. The tail end is dominated by the two oval exhaust pipes of the dual exhaust system, which are integrated into the redesigned bumper.
The vehicle's dynamically elegant styling also extends to the interior with standard sport seats featuring headrests that are power adjustable and covered in a combination of black leather and Alcantara.
