The 2012 BMW 6-Series Coupe incorporates class performance, innovative equipment, an exclusive interior as well as captivating aesthetics. At its launch, it will be available with two engine variants, an eight-cylinder powerplant for the BMW 650i Coupe and a six-in-line petrol unit featuring the BMW 640i Coupe.
The car model presents a newly developed chassis, thus being the only car in the segment available with Elec-tric Power Steering together with optional Integral Active Steering. Furthermore, its Adaptive LED Headlights for low and high beam, which add cornering function, foglamps and rear lights, make it also a premiere in the car segment. It ensures driving pleasure due to its unique equipment options, thus offering comfort and sports seats, active seats, seat ventilation, Exclusive Nappa leather, ceramic applications, and a newly developed and model-specific Bang & Olufsen High-End Surround Sound System.
The irresistible design of the new BMW 6 Series Coupe impresses and inspires with extra space and comfort levels and an aura of athletic elegance. It exclusively offers a 460-liter luggage space, top-class sporting ability and exclusive touring comfort. A maximum output of 300 kW/407 hp is developed by a V8 engine with turbochargers positioned between the cylinder banks, hooked up to an eight-speed Sports automatic gearbox as standard. The German carmaker once again makes an ideal balance between dynamic handling and ride comfort, while its standard Electric Power Steering and optional Integral Active Steering both break new ground in this segment.
In terms of design, a large and slightly-forward-slanting BMW kidney grille dominates the expressive front end with the grille emphasizing the car's sporting pedigree with a flat design, thus creating the a visual connection with the engine nestl-ing behind. Its interior offers high-quality materials and performance with a centre section of the instrument panel - including the Control Display, the central air vent and the controls for the audio system and climate control - is angled slightly towards the driver.
The passengers from the rear seats get a very pleasant level of tour-ing comfort thanks to their individual-seat character and greater shoulder and elbowroom compared with the outgoing model. At higher speeds, Integral Active Steering gives the car extremely comfortable and assured reactions when changing lanes and cornering.
