Citroen will unveil the new DS concept study later this month at the Beijing Motor Show. Its name is actually Numero 9 concept and it belongs to the DS lineup. It is not for sure yet, but there are big chances the model will go to production. The carmaker offered different new design elements like 3D grille surround and a floating roof underlined by chrome trim and the glazed side surfaces. These and a lot more will appear on the DS models. The model can be powered by a conventional petrol or diesel engine with an electric motor on the rear axle that develops 70 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. Lithium-ion batteries power the electric motor and can be recharged in three and a-half hours. The model that will be revealed in Beijing will be powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing 225 horsepower and 275 Nm of torque. The total output of the combustion engine and the electric motor is 295 horsepower. This amount of power enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and to reach a top speed of 244 km/h.
