Daihatsu is on the seventh place when it comes to the preference of the customers. This year, at the Indonesian Motor Show, the specialists will introduce a lot of incredible cars. One of the m will be a successor of the Copen convertible Kei car, called Daihatsu D-R. Actually this new vehicle looks a lot like the Copen, but you can see it is more modern and it has a huge front fascia. It also features an aluminum windshield just like the Audi and a leather-lavished interior that is a little to good to go into production. We had the opportunity to see the model is a concept form at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show last year under the name of D-X Concept.

According to the carmaker, the new Daihatsu D-R show car has replaceable resin body panels, for when the driver wants a new face. For the interior, the specialists have offered a central touch-screen that helps around a lot, especially when it comes to driver controls. Instead of the traditional instrument binnacle, the Japanese engineers have fitted the new D-R with an LCD screen.

For the curious ones, the model is powered by a 600 cc turbocharged 2-cylinder engine that provides both joy of driving and fuel efficiency. The carmaker promises a driving experience that only a compact car can offer. They also provide a new form for a future sports car. The specialists have developed a zero emission, next-generation mobility solution. It turns their attention towards a next generation model equipped with liquid fuel cells that contain no precious metals.
