The all-new 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit by Mopar offers its customers the possibility to choose between two engines, the aluminum 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 which produces 292 HP and 260 lb.-ft. of torque and the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine featuring Fuel Saver Technology with a power output of 370 HP, 390 lb.-ft. of torque and up to 25 highway mpg. The 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit is manufactured at Chrysler Group's Brampton Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ontario. Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, stated that Mopar was adding more value to their new 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit and they added quality-tested equipment to that pursuit vehicle and also managed to create a one-stop shop for police customers. Mopar agreed on a partnership with industry-equipment leader Crown North America, aiming to enhance Dodge Charger Pursuit's world-class levels of technology, safety, handling and to develop six police packages, meant to ensure the best combination of performance and tactical equipment. Reid Bigland, President and CEO of the Dodge brand also commented that the Dodge Charger Pursuit was an excellent police car on its own merits thanks to its rear-wheel-drive, best-in-class V8 power, seven airbags and up to 27 miles per gallon during highway cruising.
Chrysler Group LLC's Vice President of Network Development and Fleet, Peter Grady, added that their new packages simplified the police-vehicle order and upfit process, delivering quality turn-key police vehicles in a predictable order-to-delivery time. The base police prep package available for the 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit includes Emergency Equipment Electrical System Wire Harness, Power Distribution Center, Slide-out trunk Tray, Trunk Tray, Trunk Air-circulation Fan and Siren Speaker.
