Fiat Panda 4x4 in Paris

Italian carmaker Fiat introduced the Panda to the world at the Paris Motor Show. The model was presented by Miss Italia 2012 and this is because Fiat is now one of the official sponsors of the Miss Italia pageant, the Panda being the official car of the event. The carmaker says this is the only four-wheel drive model in the A-segment. The differences between the standard version and the new one refer to a permanent all-wheel drive system with two differentials and electronically controlled coupling. The engineers have also offered Electronic Locking Differential and Electronic Stability Control systems.

The suspension was also modified for a higher travel ride. It features an independent MacPherson arrangement at the front and an interconnected wheel with torsion beam layout at the back. These were actually especially developed for the model. In terms of styling the new Fiat Panda 4x4 features plastic surrounds, protective plates under the bumpers, new wheels on the outside and also a green frame around the dashboard. For the interior, designed have prepared unique upholstery to complete the visual effects. When it comes to engine variants the Italian specialists provide two options. The first one is for the Fiat Panda all-wheel drive model, a 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo petrol capable of developing 84 horsepower and then we have the 1.3-liter MultiJet II diesel capable of producing 74 horsepower.

Beside the Fiat Panda 4x4, the carmaker also introduced the Fiat Trekking and the Fiat Natural Power. The first one has the same height of the 4x4 and the second model is fitted with a dual fuel 0.9-liter 2-cylinder TwinAir Turbo engine capable of generating 79 horsepower. This is all the specialists had to say about the new Fiat Panda 4x4 and the Panda range actually, for now.
