HSV 25th Anniversary GTS

Holden Special Vehicles of Australia are well-know for their rear-drive V8 performance sedans and now, the specialists have developed the new GTS saloon, also known as the Vauxhall VXR8, a model that has a base the Holden Commodore. It receives power from a General Motors LS V8 unit reminding us of the Pontiac G8 GXP.

To commemorate 25 years of this official Holden tuning partner, a new model was born: the 25th Anniversary GTS special edition. The new car is powered by a LS3 engine found in the standard GTS, but which is capable of producing 435 horsepower. To transfer all this output to the road, the specialists have offered 20-inch forged alloy wheels with Satin Graphite finish. For a more powerful visual impact, the carmaker also offers Vector hood scoops and side vents that also help the breathing. The HSV 25th Anniversary GTS model also comes equipped with a standard kit found in the GTS. This kit features Bluetooth connectivity, navigation system, magnetic ride control suspension, a bi-mode exhaust and blind-spot monitoring. An Enhanced Driver Interface system is also available, just like in the Japanese Nissan GT-R. This is actually an advanced performance data recorder that offers information on lap times to the driver; for example torque, forces and power.

The new HSV 25th Anniversary GTS also comes equipped with Liquid Propane Injection as an option, which helps reduce running costs. How does it work? Long story short, the system injects liquid propane under certain driving situations and conditions. The ECU is developed to switch between propane and gasoline and it will go full-gas if the driver chooses to accelerate hard. The carmaker will build 140 units, 125 for the Australian market and 15 for New Zealand. There is no information on the price though, at least not now.
