Cosworth, the well-known engineering design and manufacturer joined forces with carmaker Hyundai to develop the Cosworth Genesis Racing Series Concept. Actually they managed to upgrade the existing Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The specialists plan to introduce the new concept car at the 2012 SEMA show that will take place at the end of this month. Cosworth specialists are famous for their power boosts and this is exactly what they offered to the new Hyundai Genesis Racing Series, a lot of power to work with. Its 3.8-liter direct injection V6 engine is now capable of producing 389 horsepower and 325 lb. ft. of torque, 40 horsepower and 30 lb. ft. of torque more than the standard version. Even so, the model is still street legal.
To handle the extra power, the engineers have offered Cosworth brakes and to improve handling, they have also provided sports suspensions. The specialists have turned their attention towards the exterior of the new Hyundai model and offered different modifications like an aero front splitter, integrated rear spoiler, blackout rear diffuser, unique satin-gloss blue for the body and gunmetal-finish lightweight racing wheels, just to name a few.
The interior was also changed and the bespoke seats, steering wheel, gear shifter and trim are all sportier. Director of marketing, Cosworth Americas, Nicole Armbrustmacher thinks of the rear-drive Hyundai Genesis Coupe to be a great platform from which to develop the new street model Cosworth Genesis Racing Series. Their new achievement really underlines the performance potential of the Genesis Coupe line, which also has very good prices.
