Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec Track Edition by ARK Performance

There is a lot of haste now before the 2012 Paris Motor Show and it will continue like this at least for another couple of days. Starting October the 30th until November 2nd in Las Vegas will take place another great event, the 2012 SEMA Show. This last one might be overlooked because of all the agitation surrounding the first one. Korean carmaker Hyundai tries to be a reminder for us, showing us one of the many tuned concept models it plans to introduce at the Las Vegas Convention Center. To develop this project, the carmaker joined forces with ARK Performance and together started building an ultra-high performance track edition of the new version of the Genesis Coupe R-Spec model.

The engineers have started their work with the engine. The 3.8-liter V6 engine was capable of developing 348 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque before the modifications and now it generates 395 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque. The specialists have also offered a Cusco type R5 1.5 / 2-way limited-slip differential, six-piston brakes with carbon pads to handle the extra power, new clutch kit, new suspension bars, arms and control rods and a coil-over system. The exterior of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec Track Edition features a body kit that makes you think of a race and it includes carbon fiber hood with heat-extractor vents, an aggressive front splitter and flared over-fenders. For the interior, the specialists have offered a roll-cage and bucket seats.

Ted Lee, owner of ARK Performance declared that the Genesis Coupe R-Spec is a perfect platform from which to build the SEMA track edition. It demonstrates the track-tuning potential of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec vehicle. The carmaker will continue its collaboration with ARK Performance.
