These last few years, Korean carmaker Hyundai was always prepared with a lot of models to show at the SEMA events. Of course, as expected, this year will not be an exception. So get ready for an exciting end of the month. A day ago, the carmaker revealed several information on a third concept planned for debut at the SEMA show. Apparently it has as base the smaller Veloster hatchback. It is the result of many months of efforts and dedication. Both the Design and Engineering divisions of Hyundai America Technical Center in Irvine, California have offered all their talent and devotement to get the job done. The name of the modified model is Velocity.
Cosworth specialists have managed to transform the 1.6-liter turbocharged and direct-injection four-banger into an incredible high performance car. Some of the upgrades include turbocharger, performance pistons, intake manifold, intercooler, fuel system engine management and intake-charging design. The output was increased from 201 horsepower and 195 lb. ft. of torque to 400 horsepower and 350 lb. ft. of torque. The chassis receives a new suspension with Bilstein springs with monotube dampers. Also, the new Hyundai Velocity receives a Brembo brake kit to handle the extra power with 4-piston calipers and two-piece rotors. To transfer the output to the road, the engineers have offered a new set of 19-inch rims covered in very strong Kumho Ecsta SPT 275 / 35 R 19 high performance tires developed for the summer. The specialists did not stop here.
The new Hyundai Velocity also features a very aggressive wide body kit. At the rear it has a big rear wing, but also a lift-reducing rear diffuser. Inside the cabin there is a fitment of a roll bar, but also specially made Katzkin suede leather interior.
