Japanese manufacturer Infiniti is very proud of its new achievement, the new Infiniti FX Vettel Edition. This crossover is available for purchase for $155.000. The carbon rear spoiler is available at an extra cost. Under the hood it hides a 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of generating 414 horsepower which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds and to reach a limited top speed of 186 mph. We heard that the well-known racer from Red Bull helped with setting up the suspension of the car and even helped pen the carbon fiber body kit. To be more precise, we are talking about a new front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear wing and side skirts. It seems that the Japanese specialists only plan to build 150 units. 50 of them will be available for Russia, 50 for Western Europe and 50 for the Middle East. The North American customers will have to come up with a system to get one.
On the outside, at the rear, it features a roof wing made of carbon fiber and mounted on milled alloy supports. Thanks to the carbon body additions including rear spoiler, the new Infiniti FX Vettel Edition boasts 30% more down force than the standard car, but also a reduction on drag of 5%. On the inside it features carbon which covers the center stack and it is additionally used on the door trims and above the glove box. The steering wheel and gear selector are covered in leather. All FX models now have a power tailgate with programmable height. The dynamics of the model have been optimized, not revolutionized.
The new car was tested in Japan and Germany, but even so, each of the 150 cars will be subject to an intense final test drive before being approved for delivery. All cars will be completed by next year, mid June.
