At the 2012 Moscow Motor Show, Jaguar managed to present its new achievement. We are talking about the XFR equipped with the Speed Pack. This package includes an obvious larger spoiler and a new front splitter and it can be equipped on all 2013 models. In terms of styling, the carmaker offered different mirrors. The speed limited was also increased and as a result, the new Jaguar XFR is capable of reaching a top speed of 174 mph. To obtain this, the engineers needed to do revise the engine module and to provide new transmission software. This is not all the carmaker presented. The specialists have unveiled their new all-wheel drive system especially developed for the XF and XJ models.
To be more precise, this is only available for the model powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine capable of developing 335 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. To send the power to the wheels the carmaker also offered an 8-speed automatic transmission and the units also feature Stop / Start technology. For example, in low grip conditions, the system automatically transfers torque to all four wheels to optimize traction, driver confidence and vehicle stability. Both the Jaguar XF and XJ will be capable of handling all kinds of weather conditions. Apparently the US, Russia, China and continental Europe will be the main markets fort the Jaguar XFR all-wheel drive models.
After the introduction of the new Speed Pack, the model became even faster than before. The revised engine is capable of producing 510 PS and it had suffered a gearbox calibration to match the increased top speed of 174 mph. The fuel consumption on a combined EU cycle was improved by 11 % and the Co2 emissions were also reduced by more than 8 %. These are all the information available of the new Jaguar XFR Speed Pack.
