Jaguar XKR-S Convertible

Featuring a convertible roof that opens and stows in just 18 seconds, the 2012 Jaguar XKR-S Convertible is announced to be the most powerful and fastest open-topped GT ever built by Jaguar. High torsional rigidity, which allows the fitment of suspension components such as a redesigned aluminium front steering knuckle and revised rear geometry, stiffer springs and dampers, is provided by its lightweight aluminum architecture while the 10 mm reduction in ride height is emphasized by new sills which smooth the horizontal airflow. There is no doubt that the XKR-S Convertible comprises outstanding characteristics, such as handling, performance, discreet luxury and relaxed comfort, sitting at the pinnacle of the XK range. Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar Global Brand Director, stated that there was nothing as liberating as life behind the wheel of an open-topped Jaguar and the new XKR-S Convertible took the Jaguar GT experience to new borders and heights. A 5.0-liter supercharged AJ-V8 engine raises an exuberant power of 550 PS and 680 Nm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission incorporating Active Differential. While the electronically limited top speed reaches 300 km/h, the car catapults itself from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. Furthermore, the comprehensive package of suspension upgrades successfully create an intimate connection between the driver and the car, also refining the XK's dynamic abilities. The interior and exterior styling changes reflect the car's uprated dynamic abilities with Jaguar Performance seats that ensure increased support for the driver and passenger during high-speed cornering. The aerodynamic design changes are the result of extensive track work, wind tunnel and Extensive Computational Fluid Dynamics. The highlights of these exterior changes include forged 20" Vulcan design alloy wheels, the application of gloss black to the exterior brightwork and Jaguar High Performance Brake callipers finished in either an eye-catching red or discreet gunmetal.
